1.The short version

Your studying stays on your phone

Which classes you watched, your quiz scores, your coins and your practice work are stored on your device. We do not upload them.

  • You can watch the free classes without an account.
  • Signing in with Google is needed only to buy or restore a plan, and to keep one account on one phone.
  • The classes play from YouTube inside the app, so YouTube sees the video you are watching.
  • The app shows ads from Google AdMob, and a video ad only when you choose to watch one for coins.
  • Plans are paid for through Google Play or the App Store; we never see your card.
  • Crash reports and anonymous usage counts carry no name, email or answers.

2.What stays on your phone

The following is kept in the app’s own private storage on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes it.

  • Which topics you have watched and how far you reached in each class.
  • Your quiz and final-test scores, and which chapters you have opened.
  • Your coins, and which chapters are open and until when.
  • Your language choice and other settings.

3.Signing in with Google

Signing in is optional and is asked for only when you take a plan or restore one you already bought. If you sign in, Google and our authentication provider, Firebase Authentication, give the app your name, email address, profile photo and a user id. We use them to know which account a plan belongs to. Your progress and answers are not attached to this account on any server of ours.

4.One account, one phone

A plan is for one person, so an account runs on one phone at a time. When you sign in, the app sends your email address and a random name it made for this phone to our own server, which runs on Cloudflare. If you later sign in on another phone, the first phone sees this the next time it opens and signs itself out. We keep only that pair — email and the phone’s random name — and it is forgotten after thirty days without use.

5.The classes play from YouTube

Every class is a video kept unlisted on YouTube and played inside the app through YouTube’s own player. That means YouTube, a Google service, receives the request for the video and whatever it normally collects when a video is played, under Google’s own privacy policy. We do not send YouTube your name or email.

6.Ads

The app shows ads from Google AdMob: a banner on some screens, an occasional full-page ad, and a video ad that plays only when you tap to watch one in exchange for coins. AdMob may use your device’s advertising id to choose ads. On a plan there are no ads at all, for as long as the plan runs.

7.Paying for a plan

Plans are bought through Google Play Billing on Android and through Apple’s In-App Purchase on iPhone. Your payment details go to Google or Apple, never to us; the store only tells the app whether the plan is active. Each level — for example CA Foundation — is bought on its own and opens only that level.

8.Crash reports and usage counts

Firebase Crashlytics sends us a report when the app crashes, so we can fix it. Axpertz Pulse, our own counting, tells us that a screen was opened or a class was played: it carries a random install id made on the device, the app version, the screen names, how long, and the shape of any error with email addresses and long numbers removed. Neither carries your name, your email or your answers.

9.Children

The app is made for students preparing for professional exams and is rated for people aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect anything from a child under 13.

10.Your choices

  • Sign out at any time from the app’s settings; the one-phone record is dropped when you do.
  • Uninstalling the app removes everything it kept on your device.
  • Write to us to ask what we hold against your email address, or to have it deleted.
  • Turn off personalised ads in your phone’s own Google settings.
